1957 Lincoln Continental Mark II
The newly-redesigned Continental returned to production with the introduction
of the Mark II which made its debut at the Paris Auto Show.
The Continental was sold to the rich and famous.
Anyone who could afford the cost was welcome.
Famous buyers included Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Louie Prima, Dwight Eisenhower,
Barry Goldwater, Spike Jones, Nelson Rockefeller, Henry J. Kaiser, Howard Johnson,
the Shah of Iran, and many other celebrities owned them.
The Mark II had a long hood and short trunk which incorporated the spare tire as part of the design
(and forever after known as "Continental kits"). Like its predecessors, it was an instant classic.

Even though the car was built in Michigan. It has spent all of its life here in the state of California.
The First owner was David and Fritzi Huntington , Los Angeles California and was purchased from Metcalf-Mayer
Lincoln Mercury in Burlingame California on March 22, 1957.
its factory service was done by Elsele Sales out of Los Angeles.
There are service records to the original owners that go from 1957 -1967.
The car also has the original the owners manual.
Complete with Notes.
The paper trail then goes to an owner by the name of "Atlantic Air Supply" from Los Angeles
from the years of 1980-1987.
The current owner has had the car for a little over 7 years.
This car has not been "Restored" as in a full restoration. It has been
painted and had interior work done, most mechanicals are in driver condition
and all original.
The car currently has 91,528 Original Miles (10/05/09)
You start this car in Neutral! That is the way they came from the factory!
Under dash lights work. Note the 3 switches below. (top) is to reset the trip mileage indicator, (left inside) to Raise and Lower the radio antenna (right) switch for under dash lights.
All of the gauges work!
(left) Fuel, Oil, Temp and Amp (center) Speedo, (right) Clock ( works, needs service gets stuck)
(far right) Tac (works)
All of the running and brake lights work.
However the interior turn indicator lamp needs to be replaced.
Bakelite knob for shifter is broken off, (not shown) But could be repaired.
AM Radio Works, and has an touch automatic scan.
there is only one speaker (located right below the radio)
Interior controls for that air and heat controls.

Photo above is of a level gauge located in the trunk of the car.
The Mark II's big 368-cid Lincoln V-8 (Y-Block) puts out 300 horsepower!
It has an automatic transmission the car runs smooth and shifts without a problem.
