1957 Lincoln Continental Mark II
A little more on the interior and things that need to be considered..
Power Seating works great!
All the power windows work well.
However the control for the passenger wind wing at the drivers master control does not work.
(but does works on the passenger side)
The headliner is immaculate.
The Dome light works manually (the door switches are not working)
None of the cigarette lighters work.
Chrome door jams are in very good shape.
The drivers side door panel could be fit a little better at the top but is not that noticeable.
When going over the car it looks to be that the rubber was replaced, most likely after the car had been painted
because you can see where the old rubber had been. This is the same on the passenger side also.
There is a very small section of the stitching on the drivers side arm rest that could be cleaned up a bit.
The door panel in the rear on the drivers passenger side could be fitted a bit better.
The carpet and the rest of the interior is in very good condition.
There is a very small rock chip about the size of a 50 cent piece in the windshield on the driver side.
The chip has been drilled as to prevent running and can be fixed with the new poly window repair kits without a problem.
Windshield wipers are Vacuum type they work but are slow and need to be lubed.
The paint on this car is very, very, very smooth,
however when you get up real close and at certain angles you can see sanding marks,
(understand you can not feel them)
I've seen this phenomenon before.
The paint that was used was somewhat transparent, it covered the car well
but could have used a few more coats.
(Once again understand you have to be very close to see this)
Other imperfections include.
A light scratch on the front drivers fender, (this can easily be rubbed out)
There are also 2 spots of shrinkage on the hood of the car that are about 1" long.
I had a real hard time photographing them and only got one good photo.
I'm pretty sure that they can be repaired if taken to someone who knows what they are doing.
The Continental Mark II was debuted to the public at the Paris Motor Show in 1955.
During the close of 1955, around 1300 Mark II's were sold.
For the entire 1956 model year, another 1300 were sold.
In 1957, only 444 were produced for a total of just over 3000.
Around 1500 still exist in modern time. Only three convertibles were created.
The Continental Mark II was the most expensive vehicle for sale at the time in the United States.
With superb paint, chrome and leather, this Mark II is a true classic!
Only 444 of these classic Mark II's were produced in 1957, This is one of them!
Guaranteeing the new owner years of enjoyment.
